WHY SHOULD WE BOOK WITH A TRAVEL ADVISOR?

We take the headache out of travel planning. We are not a reservation system but rather booking agents who work on your behalf to research and reserve the trip of your dreams. The rates we provide to you are never more than you’d pay to book travel independently. By booking with us, you have access to exclusive rates and negotiated perks available only to travel advisors. We’ve laid out all our benefits here to ensure you have a comprehensive understanding of how we will enhance your travel experience.

 

WHAT ARE YOUR SERVICES?

A standard TJG itinerary includes airfare, ground transportation on location, hotel accommodations, exploratory tours, travel insurance, and often VIP services like expedited customs and immigration processing. You may also hire us for a flat $100 concierge fee to book all of your restaurant reservations, babysitting, scuba diving, admission to local attractions, and other special services. 

 

DO YOU CHARGE A FEE FOR YOUR SERVICES?

All The Journey Group Travel travel planning services are subject to a professional fee that will be discussed and agreed upon between the client + travel advisor. 

 

HOW DO TRAVEL ADVISORS GET PAID?

We are compensated on a combined professional fee + commission-based structure. The commissions paid by suppliers/vendors are not on top of their regular pricing; therefore, the price you pay is not inflated with any hidden costs. We often book non-commissionable components therefore, a small professional fee is necessary. 

 

DO I HAVE TO PAY UPFRONT FOR MY VACATION?

Payment schedules are set by independent suppliers or vendors, i.e., airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, tour companies/wholesalers, or activity providers. Typically, they do allow multiple payments - deposit at the time of booking and then final payment due later.

DO I HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL TO BECOME A TRAVEL AGENT? 

No. However, we encourage our agents to complete training from multiple sources, and we will help you find the best options for your budget + lifestyle. 

 

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO START A TRAVEL BUSINESS?

Not as much as you might think, but this amount can vary depending on how’d you like to structure your business. Your initial consultation with our founder will go over all the costs.
