We specialize in stress-free destination weddings for
groups of all sizes.
We have over 22 years of experience booking wed-
dings throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central
America. We are familiar with working with every
type of hotel and venue, from small luxury boutique
hotels to large family-friendly all-inclusive resorts.

DESTINATION WEDDING & Honeymoon GLOSSARY
The journey group travel (TJGT) Travel Advisor - your dedicated travel consultant who will assist you from start to finish.
Group Room Block - the number of rooms your TJG Travel Advisor will book on your behalf to ensure your guests can
all stay together at your host hotel.
Host Hotel - the hotel where all your guests will be staying.
Legal Ceremony - a wedding ceremony that is legally recognized locally at the site of your wedding as well as back home in the US.
Save-the-Dates - the initial announcement of your engagement and plans to have a destination wedding usually sent after you’ve locked in your wedding date at your host hotel.
Symbolic Ceremony - a wedding ceremony that is simply for the experience and the couple is usually already legally married (at a courthouse in the US.)
Wedding Coordinator - the person located at your host hotel who is assigned to assist you with planning your
on-property events.
WHAT WE DO
FOR YOU
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION:
01/ Location Consultation – in a collaborative effort, we match you to the perfect destination based on your likes + wants. Want to avoid the rainy season in Costa Rica? No problem. Want to avoid carnival week in Antigua? No problem.
02/ Group Rate Negotiation - we request + review multiple quotes for room blocks and negotiate the best possible combination of rates + perks.
03/ Contract Review - we go over your group room block contract + your ceremony/reception contract with a fine-tooth comb; we will point out anything that seems out of the ordinary and bring it to the
hotel’s attention.
04/ Wedding Coordinator Introduction – we connect you with the right people who will handle all of your ceremony + reception needs on property.
SPREAD THE WORD:
05/ Wedding Details Copy Text – once you’ve decided on your dream location, we provide you with suggested text for your Save The Dates and Invites.
06/ Wedding Website - we build a custom one-page wedding website to house all of the essential details related to your big day. This is where your guests will go to make their room reservations.
07/ Wedding Welcome Letter + Wedding Itinerary - we know exactly what information guests are looking for on arrival at the hotel. Your CJ Travel Advisor will help you draft a welcome letter and event itinerary that will answer most of these questions and save you from being bombarded every time you try to relax.
TRAVEL MANAGEMENT:
08/ Travel Coordination – we will research, plan, and book travel for all your guests in a very streamlined manner. We offer the option of adding airfare, airport shuttle transfers, travel insurance, and destination tours to every booking.
09/ Flight Tracking - if your guests book their airport transfers through Caribbean Journey, we will collect their flight information and monitor all flights for any possible schedule changes, alerting the transfer company so that nobody is left stranded.
JUST BECAUSE:
13/ Sounding Board – we’ve been planning weddings for over 21 years. We stay up-to-date on industry trends, all to hope to provide our brides with fast and spot-on answers to any question they might have. We’ve consulted on everything from invitations, where to source welcome bags, what reception treats will hold up in the heat, and so much more.
14/ Special Exceptions - best friend needs a few additional weeks to get her final payment in? No problem. We’ve been known to successfully negotiate payment extensions when needed. Never guaranteed, but life happens; we get it and will always be an advocate for you and all your guests.
15/ Special Requests - we take care of passing along all special requests to the hotel, including special notes from you if you’d like to request which individual rooms you would like located near each other.
16/ Let’s Get the Party Started - you have the option of having The Journey Group Travel host a one-hour zoom with your wedding guests where we can answer any questions and run through the travel day protocols.
IT’S DEPARTURE TIME:
17/ Detailed Travel Instructions - we provide a helpful set of travel
instructions for your guests that includes such important details as to
how to complete the immigration paperwork, where to find their driver
at the airport, what time to be waiting in the lobby for the shuttle, the
appropriate dress codes, etc.
18/Pandemic Policy Review - let’s face it, the travel landscape has changed in the past few years, and it’s more important than the event before to make sure you comply with entry requirements for international travel. We ensure all your guests have the most up-to-date information regarding policies, testing, etc.
WHILE YOU’RE TRAVELING:
19/ Emergency Situations - all of your guests will be provided with local contacts for support and emergency numbers that are staffed 24/7.
20/ There’s Always One - the best man missed his flight? No problem. Your brother misplaced his travel paperwork? Canceled flights? No problem.
We monitor our phones at all hours during wedding weeks and will move quickly to remedy any issue to the best of our ability.
